Atlex have recently completed the new CSIRO sheepyard facility at Armidale NSW. Atlex manufactured and installed the sheepyards which included a new shed ramp, an undercover double working race enabling them to work in all weather conditions. They opted to have the double working race raised with toe recess, this raises up sheep to a more comfortable working height and allows your toes to be inserted under the concrete floor to reduce the strain on your back.
A second undercover working area was also included in the design which linked to an existing undercover single working race. It provides the research teams an area they can work on smaller groups of experimental sheep, allowing the use of a number of different types of sheep handling devices.
The design included many of our unique features such as the adjustable tapered drafting races, hawker swing tip block gates and manways with dog flaps. There was also provision to accommodate the clients existing trailable VE machine.
