Atlex Stockyards can help you with all your Sheep Yard and Cattle Yard OH & S issues
Atlex Feedlots

Atlex cattle feedlot designs allow cattle to flow QUICKER, EASIER and SAFER.
We intelligently design and meticulously construct feedlot cattleyards to eliminate cattle bruising and stress to the operator
Atlex Stockyards design, manufacture and construct receival, induction & processing yards and loading ramps. We can also provide access to a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals to undertake feedlot feasibility, detail design and development.
We are proud to continue to undertake larger and smaller projects ranging from full design of new feedlot facilities to renovation of existing feed lot facilities, manufacture and construction.
We specialise in custom designing feedlots. By taking advantage of our On-Property Design Service, you will be able to appreciate the benefits of custom design when incorporating existing features into a new feedlot cattleyard design or renovations.

Feedlot Projects
Mirambee Feedlot, Dubbo (New South Wales)
Atlex designed, manufactured and constructed trucking yards, including an unloading dump, herringbone stacking pens, circular teardrop forcing gate and electric loading ramp. Stage One was completed in 2001 and Stage Two induction yards with hydraulic drafting, Warwick hydraulic crush, tapered race with heavy-duty rotary force with separation of cattle with handlers and elevated walkway was completed in 2005.
Peacock Beef Feedlot, Dubbo, (NSW)
Atlex completed this feedlot with its heavy-duty rotary force and tapered race incorporating a Breckon pneumatic crush and elevated walkway. One man operation for induction, which also feeds the loading ramp.
Butterfield Beef Feedlot, Borden (Western Australia)
Atlex designed and constructed the unloading and loading yards with heavy-duty rotary force with separation of cattle and handlers. It is associated with drafting yards using pneumatic drafting gates at a 4-5,000 head cattle enterprise in a robust environment.
Grassdale Beef Feedlot, Dalby (Queensland)
Atlex designed for induction, processing, unloading and loading yards associated with drafting yards using pneumatic drafting gates at a 55,000 head cattle enterprise in a robust environment. This is one of the largest feedlots in Australia.
New Britain Palm Oil Feedlot, Kimbe (New Guinea)
Atlex designed, manufactured and constructed cattleyards with induction and weighing area with AI room and office. This project was completed in conjunction with two shiploads of export cattle from Townsville (Queensland). Atlex Stockyards designed, manufactured and constructed to Australian Maritime Authority Standards and Australian Quarantine Inspection Service accreditation.
Qatar Feedlot, Qatar
Atlex designed for 30,000 sheep on green field site including unloading, induction, drafting, all pens, feeding and watering systems, weighbridge, all under cover in a very harsh environment.
Z2 Downs Feedlot, Gerang Gerung (Victoria)
The Atlex design and manufacture included induction yards with a future capacity of 9000 head, an unloading dump, double fixed loading ramp and a Breckon pneumatic crush.

Pre-Fabricated Double Cattle Loading Ramp
- The pre-fabricated permanent double cattle loading ramp is constructed at the Atlex workshop and transported directly to site for assembly taking approximately 4 hours before the concrete is poured to act as the floors. The ramp is 11.5 metres in length with an under and over configuration, sheeted sides combined with walkways on either side conforming to Australian Standards with access gates at the front to allow easy access into the trailer. The pre-fabricated package easily stacks onto a rigid tray truck.
- The pre-fabricated permanent double loading ramp has the innovative method of preassembly which has eliminated up to 2 weeks on-site construction time. The complete assembly is bolted together with no on site welding. The base is concreted into the ground for strength and stability with the concrete floor poured on site to form the floors for the two decks.
-
The pre-fabricated double loading ramp will enable Australian Lot Feeding Industry operators the ability to either redesign their existing setups, knowing the assembly time will not hinder animal movement for weeks at a time or they can include it in a new design when developing new green field sites. The result benefit is improved animal welfare with less stress on cattle and truck driver, due to the ease and speed of loading.
- The kit form allows it to be transported Australia wide at minimal cost due to the compact packaging on a rigid tray truck. The innovation of the pre-fabricated permanent double loading ramp has reduced construction time with the ease of construction, by either the feedlot operator or contractor with a similar investment of a conventional double loading ramp. With the importance of animal welfare and labour efficiency critical to the long term viability of the feedlot industry, this prefabricated permanent double loading ramp will make its contribution.

Electric Adjustable Cattle Loading Ramp
- The ramp is 9.5 metres in length , with electric 3 tonne winch
- Sheeted sides combined with walkway on one side conforming to Australian Standards with access gate at the front to allow easy access into the truck.
- The pre-fabricated loading ramp is constructed at the Atlex workshop and transported directly to site for assembly taking approximately one day before the concrete is poured for the posts.
- The complete assembly is bolted together with no on site welding. The base is concreted into the ground for strength and stability with the concrete floor poured on site.
