1995: Atlex redeveloped the last 54 cattle selling pens. This involved earthworks, manufacture, construction and drainage. The project was completed in 1995.

Designs for a ten-year plan for the sheepyards (the yards have a turnover between 1.2–1.45 million sheep per year).

2003: Design and Construction for a remote circular cattle drafting operation with an eight way draft with a central podium and lever mechanism, which allows cattle to return in the event of a mistake for a redraft. It incorporates a Warwick crush with vet section for mouthing, pregnancy testing, tagging, etc all safely. It is the preferred drafting race by all agents at the Dubbo Regional Livestock Selling Centre which has an annual turnover in excess of 170,000 cattle.

2009: Atlex supplied 732m of raised walkway for the sheepyard selling pens and also carried out upgrades to sections of the cattleyards.

Swan Hill Saleyards (Victoria)

2005: Naracoorte Saleyards recently opened 37 new delivery yards at the rear of smaller, poorly-drained delivery yards. Atlex Stockyards were commissioned to design and construct the new redevelopment and integrate into the existing cattleyards.

A cattle laneway allows for flexibility of movement with all gates safely hitting the opposite laneways for operator safety and all gates having overhead bracing for additional strength.

All the 37 cattleyards have troughs to comply with the National Saleyard Quality Assurance guidelines

Dorrigo Saleyards (New South Sales)

2004: Atlex provided Dorrigo Saleyards with a safety audit to improve their stock flow and move towards NSQA accreditation.

Atlex worked in conjunction with Sinclair Knight Merz to provide two options of a new site (or to redevelop the existing site). Ballarat City Council has now agreed to move the facility to a Greenfield site. Atlex completed successfully all the concept designs and cost estimates associated with both the redevelopment and Greenfield.

Bathurst Saleyards (New South Wales)

2002-2003: Atlex worked in conjunction with Maunsell to develop through the Development Application the total redevelopment of the sheep and cattle selling centre, including new plans, flood and effluent mitigation, acoustics and traffic under-cover in 2002 and 2003. The detailed design was completed in 2005, with the most innovative cattle delivery system ever contemplated in Australia. The cattle saleyards are completely under-cover and the delivery yards will be under-cover in the sheepyards.

2003: Atlex was commissioned to provide a Concept Report into the relocation of the Midland sheep selling facilities to Northam in July 2003. This included cost estimates and site selection.

Yea Saleyards (Victoria)

Atlex in conjunction with the Livestock Exchange Consultancy developed the next phase of development for delivery yards and to link all walkways.

Hamilton Saleyards (Victoria)

2002: Atlex designed a concept design for the under-cover delivery cattleyards.

Atlex designed Coonamble Saleyards to comply with NSQA accreditation and to expand to a capacity of 5,000 per head. The project included complete to scale drawings of existing structures (including services). Four consultation meetings were held with Coonamble Shire Council and all other Stakeholders.

2000: Atlex redeveloped the saleyards with 206 new cattle selling pens all under -cover.

This was a Design and Construct contract involving a sword tooth shed 110 x 76 metres with associated earthworks, effluent and drainage, manufacture, construction, electrical and plumbing. The project was completed in 2000. This project was in excess of $1.6 million.

Bairnsdale Regional Saleyards (Victoria)

2000: Atlex redeveloped 104 new cattle selling pens all under-cover. This involved a sword tooth shed 76 x 48 metres with associated earthworks, effluent and drainage management, manufacture, construction, electrical and plumbing. The project was completed in 2000. This project was in excess of $1 million.

Stage Two has been completed and includes two scales, 44 bull pens, crush, a further 46 selling pens and six loading ramps including a double deck ramp all under a continuation of the sword tooth 76m x 55m. This project was approx $1.7 million.

Stage Two also saw the development of Australia's first ever disabled access in a saleyard: an important contibution to OH&S.

Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange (Victoria) Greenfield Project.

1998 - 2007 Atlex was responsible for design, manufacture, construction, management and operation of the Horsham saleyards. The design was completed in 1998, manufacture and construction in 1999, management and operation 1999-2007.

Its capacity is in excess of 20,000 sheep and 600 cattle. The project involved design of civil engineering, effluent and environmental design, water management, electrical design, canteen, scale weighing facilities, concreting, Avdata truck wash and flood irrigation for agistment paddocks. We have gained NSQA accreditation as part of our Management and Operation contract. This project was in excess of $3.9 million.

Cooma and Monara Regional Saleyards (New South Wales)

1992: Atlex redeveloped the entire sheep selling complex. This included manufacture and construction with a capacity in excess of 15,000 sheep. This project was completed in 1992.
