NB: Atlex sheep yards can also be used for goats. Depending on the type of goats the yards can have standrad panels/gates which are 1m high with six rails or we do have the option of panels/gates standing 1.2m high with seven rails.

On-Property Design Service

• Your new yards are designed to suit you.
• We specialise in custom designing sheepyards. By taking advantage of our On-Property Design Service, you will be able to appreciate the benefits of custom design when incorporating existing features into a new sheepyard design or yard renovations.
• The sheepyards can be purchased in stages as a part of a LONG-TERM PLAN, or you can purchase the high density working area and build on holding yards with cheaper material to conserve costs while achieving your overall objectives.

Delivery to Your Property

• Delivery of your sheep yards by Atlex, to prevent the likelihood of damage and loss in the transport chain.

Pegging out of Your Design

• We take the responsibility that your sheepyards go together correctly and you know exactly where to dig the holes.

• Our Total Base Station (Robotic Theodolite) can stakeout to the accuracy of 1mm from the agreed design.

Panels & Gates

• Standard panels and gates have 50NB galvanised posts (60mm outside diameter) with five 20NB/27OD and one 25NB/34OD rails for the long life and durability of your yards.
• All posts are in the ground at least 625mm and the panels stand One Metre High.
• All panels and gates 3.3 metres long have two flat vertical straps welded on for extra strength to the already strong high tensile galvanized steel.
• All panels and gates between 2.2 - 3.15 metres in length have one vertical support in the centre.
• All 3.3 Metre Gates have 80NB/89OD galvanised posts to prevent any sagging.
• Blind Panels are sheeted to one metre allowing the correct approach for doubling the speed of drafting.

• All panels and gates are Square and not bent on the corners to minimise the risk of sheep, in particular expensive rams, jumping over fences and possibly breaking their legs after becoming wedged at the bottom of the curve.

A Lot of Gates

• Atlex yard designs incorporate lots of gate for flexibility, with 2.2m internal gates having the Unique Atlex 360 Degree Hinges, which allows gates to fold back against either side of the fence and prevent sheep from continually wedging behind a three-quarter open gate.

Atlex Adjustable Tapered Drafting Race

• This forces sheep and lambs to approach the drafting gates in single file for ease of drafting and preventing them from turning around or lambs coming beside the ewe.
• It eliminates the need to block sheep with your knees.
• It can be widened for whatever reason, like filling the drenching race.

• The Adjustable Tapered Drafting Race can double the speed of drafting over conventional drafting races.

Hawker Tip Swing Block Gate

• The Hawker Gate quickly and discreetly blocks both the adjustable drafting race and the working race.
• It neatly folds between two posts and then swings back flush along the outside of the race out of the way.
• It can be opened and closed easily in only 2-3 seconds without any chains or catches.

• The rails on this gate are vertical (like on a swimming pool gate) and 100mm higher to reduce the possibility of sheep breaking their legs if attempting to jump the Hawker gate when it is shut.

Safety Draft Gates

• Safety draft gates are 1.6m long with a looped safety handle to prevent any hand or wrist injuries if sheep should jump when being drafted.

Unique Safety Manway with Dog Flap

• The Atlex Manway with dog flap provides an easy and safe self-closing access and exit so you and your dog don't need to climb over the fence.

Smooth Top Working Race

• Having a smooth top working race prevents your drenching and jetting hoses becoming snagged at each post and pulling the hose off your backpack resulting in drenching chemical running down your back.
• Option to have a Removale Panel in the working race to allow the positioning of scales with a Draft Gate in front.

Optional Raised Working Race with Toe Recess

• Sheep are raised up to a more comfortable working height and allows your toes to be inserted under the concrete floor to reduce the strain on your back.

Woolshed Ramp

• Ramps have sheeted sides to 1m to ensure sheep go up without stopping midway. Includes flooring but excludes Concrete.

Covered Working Area

• By having the working area of your sheepyards undercover, it enables you to work comfortably in all weather conditions.
• Keeps you out of the sun and skin cancer causing ultra violet radiation. Up to 10 degrees cooler attracting a breeze making it easier on people, sheep and dogs. Therefore no need to delay work as comfortably out of the sun in summer and rain in winter.
• Provides extra storage for shearing shed if complete yard is covered next to working race and drafting race.

Portable Sheepyards & Goatyards

Portable sheepyards and goat yards are made to order, below are a few of the components available:

Portable Panels/Gates

• SHEEPYARDS: stand approx 1.05M HIGH with SIX 20NB (27mm outside diameter) galvanized high tensile rails and one vertical support strap in the centre.
• GOATYARDS: stand approx 1.25M HIGH with SEVEN 20NB (27mm outside diameter) galvanized high tensile rails and one vertical support strap in the centre.
• Panels have HOOPS on the bottom at either end to keep the bottom rail off the ground. Allows the panels to easily slide across the ground and reduce damage if sheep put pressure on a fence
• GATES are in a U FRAME (40x40 RHS) to prevent the gate from sagging.

• BLIND PANELS 1.6m or 2.2m long and fully sheeted to 1.0m. Goat yard panels can have an additional 20NB rail on top so they stand at 1.2m high.

• All panels & gates are square and not bent on the corners to minimise the risk of sheep

Adjustable Tapered Drafting Race on a Frame

• The adjustable tapered drafting race with hawker tip swing blocking gate and two draft gates all permanently welded to a 75x25 RHS frame. It can be part of a trailer or as an individual unit (5m long).
• This forces sheep and lambs to approach the drafting gates in single file for ease of drafting and preventing them from turning around or lambs coming beside the ewe.
• It eliminates the need to block sheep/goats with your knees.
• It can be widened for whatever reason, like filling the drenching race.

Atlex Auto Sheep Management Handler

This is not JUST an Autodrafter ... this is SO MUCH more.

The Atlex Auto Sheep Management Handler is a Fully Automatic One-man & One-dog Management, Weighing, Recording and Drafting Operation with the ability to mouth, drench, crutch, vaccinate, dag and more ... and there are no condemned carcase problems either!

The Standard Atlex AT3 Auto Sheep Management Handler consists of:

• 3 way fully automatic draft with remote control manual override.
• 2000kg Ruddweigh weigh bars
• 2.4m anti-backing ramp with barrier over the ramp to prevent sheep jumping as they enter the unit
• Soft textured side squeeze which prevents injury to sheep. Rigid squeezes and pneumatic sliding gates can break sheep ribs leading to condemned carcases at abattoirs. 
• Gate on the weigh platform to allow you to use it as a weigh crate without the squeeze
• Fully electroplated or galvanised including the 2.4m anti-backing ramp
• Wheels underneath to make it easier to manoeuvre in the yards
• Easily fits into a 6 x 4 trailer for transport if not including trailer option

The standard machine comes with Ruddweigh weigh bars, however we can make the them with Tru-Test weigh bars if required.

The machine also requires an Indicator, you can use your existing Ruddweigh or Tru-Test Indicator, or we can supply them as an optional extra.

3.6m Fixed Height Permanent Sheep Loading Ramp

• Ramps are 3.6 metres in length and rises easily to 1.2 metres making the gradient easy for sheep and operator.
• Sheeted both sides to one metre to direct sheep to walk straight up or down and not damage their feet or legs.
• Is 800mm wide which allows sheep and lambs to pass each other if one stops, and is the same width as saleyard ramps which we build, and is recommended by the Livestock Transport Association.
• The ramp has provision for a suspended concreted floor to be poured on site and includes the corrugated iron formwork as the foundation for the concrete. Concrete provides a strong stable footing with no noise. We recommend that the concrete have small steps pressed in when pouring. (excludes supply of concrete)
• A walkway is located down one side with two safety hand rails for protection.
• The original Atlex self-aligning buffer to reduce injury to the feet of sheep if the truck is not perfectly reversed straight. This is extremely simple and very strong with two small vertical gates on either side to block the gap required for the buffer.
• The frame is constructed from 75x75 Duragal RHS braced over the top to prevent any spreading at the front.
• All material is either Duragal or galvanized for long life.

3.6m Fixed Height (Rigid) Sheep Loading Ramp

• Ramps are 3.6 metres in length and rises easily to 1.2 metres making the gradient easy for sheep and operator.
• Sheeted both sides to one metre to direct sheep to walk straight up or down and not damage their feet or legs.
• Is 800mm wide which allows sheep and lambs to pass each other if one stops, and is the same width as saleyard ramps which we build, and is recommended by the Livestock Transport Association.
• 1.5mm pressed grip floor
• A walkway is located down one side with two safety hand rails for protection.
• The frame is constructed from 75x75 Duragal RHS braced over the top to prevent any spreading at the front.
• All material is either Duragal or galvanized for long life.

3.6m Height Adjustable (Rigid) Sheep Loading Ramp

• Ramps are 3.6 metres in length and rises easily from 0.5 to 1.2 metres making the gradient easy for sheep and operator.
• Half of the ramp is adjustable, 1.8 metres, and is easily lifted by hand and slots into a safety rack
• Sheeted both sides to one metre to direct sheep to walk straight up or down and not damage their feet or legs.
• Is 800mm wide which allows sheep and lambs to pass each other if one stops, and is the same width as saleyard ramps which we build, and is recommended by the Livestock Transport Association.
• 1.5mm pressed grip floor
• The vertical frame is constructed from 75x75 Duragal RHS braced over the top to prevent any spreading at the front.
• All material is either Duragal or galvanized for long life

6m Height Adjustable Permanent Sheep Loading Ramp

• Ramps are six metres in length and rise from 500mm (tandem trailer) to the 4th deck.
• Sheeted both sides to one metre to direct sheep and lambs to walk straight up or down.
• Is 800mm wide which allows sheep and lambs to pass each other if one stops, and is the same width as saleyard ramps which we build, and is recommended by the Livestock Transport Association.
• 1.5mm pressed grip floor
• Is lifted by a brake winch, which holds going up and down and are the same as used on quality grain augers.
• Automatic safety mechanism which supports the weight of the ramp in addition to the brake winch. This can be easily released by rotating the release bar while lowering the ramp.
• A walkway is located down one side with two safety hand rails for protection.
• Bumper rubber for trucks on the front of the ramp
• There is a flap at the top end to reduce the risk to sheep's feet.
• The frame is a heavy 150mm universal beam (UB) where the ramp wheels neatly run in the UB channel and cannot be damaged by the truck. The strength of the UB helps protect the ramp.
• Wheels on the bottom of the ramp allow the ramp to move up and down when a concrete pad is poured at the base on site.

• Is 800mm wide which allows sheep and lambs to pass each other if one stops, and is the same width as saleyard ramps which we build, and is recommended by the Livestock Transport Association.
• 1.5mm pressed grip floor
• Is lifted by a cable winch
• Can be towed easily with a 50mm ball.
• Wheels are 14" with Holden HT rims which are normally common on properties for spares tyres
• The frame is 50mm x 50mm RHS with 200mm Z purlin to support the floor

6m Heavy Duty Height Adjustable Mobile Sheep Loading Ramp

• Ramps are six metres in length and rise easily to the third deck making the gradient easy for sheep and operator.
• Sheeted both sides to one metre to direct sheep and lambs to walk straight up or down.
• Is 800mm wide which allows sheep and lambs to pass each other if one stops, and is the same width as saleyard ramps which we build, and is recommended by the Livestock Transport Association.
• 1.5mm pressed grip floor
• Is lifted by a geared brake winch which holds going up and down and is the same as used on quality grain augers.
• Automatic safety mechanism which supports the weight of the ramp. This can be easily released by rotating the release bar while lowering ramp.
• A walkway is located down one side with two safety handrails for protection.
• Is cushioned by six leaf springs to reduce steel fatigue on rough roads.
• Can be towed easily and pushed into position with the aid of a dolly wheel which is provided. Designed to be towed by four-wheel motorbike or on highways with a 50mm ball.
• Wheels are 14" with Holden HT rims which are normally common on properties for spares tyres.
• There is a flap at the top end to reduce the risk to sheep's feet.

Woolshed Ramp

• Can to be incorporated into designs, this woolshed ramp is easy to erect and made from all galvanized steel - you just need to add concrete.
• Sides are sheeted and are suited to the height of your woolshed and width of door.

Ute Ramp

• The Ute Ramp is 600mm wide with an aluminium tread floor, 2100mm long and approx 50kg.
• Removable sides which have five 20NB (27mm outside diameter) rails.

Anti-Backing Ramp

• 8ft or 4ft  ramps fully galvanised
• Anti-backing mechanism to prevent sheep from backing up

Motorbike Ramp

• Two x ramps 300mm wide with an aluminium tread floor, 2100mm long
